What is Business Coaching? Is it for you?

Seven Common Frustrations For Business Owners—Which Do You Want To Overcome?

After 8 years business coaching Sydney with over 350 business owners, I’ve seen just about everything, and you start to recognise the patterns. 7 common challenges just come up again and again. Take 60 seconds to look and see how many of these apply to you…

  1. You work too hard to get new business. This is normally because your marketing sucks or is inconsistent. “I tried , once and didn’t get any response”. You pray that “word of mouth” picks up quickly.
  2. You have no time. You spend time on areas that don’t add value to your business. You don’t to realize that the smaller the business is that the more your personal productivity is linked to your profit.
  3. You don’t know your financials. You wait for your accountant or bookkeeper to tell you what’s going on once a year, months after the horse has bolted. And that’s if your accountant or bookkeeper even has time to explain it to them. You don’t know they were out of money until the bank account balance was bare and then hit panic stations when your BAS is due.
  4. You don’t know your numbers. You don’t know how much business you should be doing weekly to cover your costs. You don’t know whether you’re winning or losing more business than last month. You discover that times are tough too late to do anything about it.
  5. You lose sales without even knowing why. “I’m not a salesperson”, “I don’t like to pressure anyone.” You don’t realize that some tiny changes can make big differences in helping people use your services and products. You’re terrified of speaking to new business prospects unintroduced.
  6. You have ‘People Problems’. You are running around afraid to employ people because of the cost, the time to train team and the fact that you don’t know how to manage them without standing over them.
  7. You can’t clearly see a path to profit. You can’t see why you’re are going through all this stress and can’t see a way forward. You have no plan to improve the situation and end up running out of steam or become stale.

Whose Fault Is It When Business Owners Have These Challenges?

It’s not your fault. No-one ever taught you the best ways to tackle these challenges. No one taught you how to be a great business owner—you just worked hard at being a great technician in your business. Why? Because you are told that if you’re great at what you do, everything else will fall into place—but you and I both know that just being the best doesn’t guarantee that you get the most business anymore. You’ve seen others who are up to your standards but still seem to be coming out in front all the time.

It’s easy for you to get stuck in a rut, to keep doing things the same old way or tackle problems the same old way. You have no one to hold you to account, No one to demand and expect a better performance, and so its easy to get lax. If you don’t pay your staff then you are in trouble with the law, but if you don’t pay yourself no one cares.

You don’t have to settle for a business that operates at less than its potential. I believe that you should get what you wanted when you started your business. That your goals should be fulfilled for both you and your family. That you get the reward for the risk that you’ve taken. That you’re in control of your business. That you get the best you can out of your business. That you deserve to know both you and your business are working at your true potential.

As your business coach, I have one purpose and one purpose only: I am here to help you win.

How will we help you get real business results through business coaching?

If you want to take it to the next level and have a business coach lead you quickly to results, then you’ll want to work with me 1 on 1. After an initial consultation, we’ll identify your business goals, and map out a plan to get you there faster. You’ll make major progress in each business coaching session as we train, and coach you to implement the strategies that build your business. As your business coach I’ll keep you focused and on track with your own client website—one place to manage your actions, and grow your business.

Where To From Here?

If you’re open to looking at a different approach, I invite you to make contact with me and talk about business coaching. So please call or e-mail me that you’d like to talk to me about growing your business.

Here’s what will happen…

Firstly, we’ll have a quick discussion over the phone. I can pretty much assess our potential for success within a few minutes (I’ve been coaching and consulting for 7 years).

Then if we both agree that there’s solid potential for growth in your business – we’ll make a time to meet.

After talking with me about your business, you’ll get a feeling for whether I’ll be right to work with you. (My clients call it a ‘gut-instinct’ or intuition).

I have the track record and the ability to help your business. So it’ll come down to our ability to ‘work’ together.

That is, whether we ‘click’ as a team working together to grow your business. If we’re going to work together every week for the next couple of years – we better have a good working relationship!

This will be an intuitive or ‘gut’ decision on your part – and on mine. (I choose not to work with people that I don’t like. I suppose you are the same).

When we meet, we’ll go through in detail exactly what your current situation is, and what you’d like to achieve. I’ll let you know if it’s possible and how we can do it and whether we can work together successfully to achieve the results you’re after.

Together, we’ll discuss some strategies and techniques you can use, then we’ll decide which business coaching program will best suit your situation, your goals, and your budget & timelines.

Then if we both agree, we’ll get started.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves…

The first step is to contact me.

You can do this bye-mailing me right now on stevesmit [at] realityconsulting.com.au … or you can call me on 1300 889 186.
